Yesterday, Yanga fans got their first glimpse of new striker Laurindo Dilson Maria Aurelio, popularly known as “Depu,” during the NBC Premier League match against Mashujaa FC.
Despite playing for only about 20 minutes, Wananchi left the stadium with smiles on their faces after what they witnessed from Depu in that match.
It may be too early to predict exactly what Depu will achieve in a Yanga shirt, but as the Swahili saying goes, “A good day is seen in the morning.”
That “morning” came in the match against Mashujaa. On his very first appearance for Yanga, Depu scored a goal and also provided an assist.
Depu has shown that he is the kind of striker no defender looks forward to facing.
He is aggressive, powerful, fast, and intelligent. In the few minutes he played against Mashujaa FC, he gave their defenders a very tough time.
Without a doubt, Depu will be a huge asset for Yanga in the CAF Champions League, and he could well be part of the squad that faces Al Ahly this Friday in Egypt.
