Yanga’s Information and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has assured Wananchi that the signing of goalkeeper Hussein Masalanga was specifically meant to cover for Aboubakar Khomein, who is currently injured.
Kamwe said Khomein has suffered an injury that will keep him sidelined for three months, hence the decision to sign Masalanga was made based on advice from the technical bench.
He emphasized that Masalanga was not signed to replace Djigui Diarra, stressing that Diarra is not going anywhere.
"According to the medical report, our goalkeeper Aboubakar Khomein has sustained an injury that will keep him out for approximately three months,"
"Therefore, the signing of Masalanga was done in line with the advice of the technical bench and the needs of the team. Khomein will remain a Yanga player, but he will be removed from the system and his place will be taken by Masalanga."
"It should now be clear that our three goalkeepers are Djigui Diarra, Aboutwalib Mshery, and Hussein Masalanga."
