Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has said his squad is ready for the NBC Premier League match against Mashujaa FC, which will be played tomorrow, Monday, at the KMC Complex.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Pedro acknowledged the strength of Mashujaa FC, particularly their defensive line, which has conceded only four goals so far this season.
However, he stressed that Yanga are prepared to handle any situation in the match, with the main objective being to secure victory.
"When we look at the league standings, we see Mashujaa as a good team. In nine matches they have conceded only four goals, which shows they are a solid side that knows how to defend. For us, it is a good challenge to face a team of this type, and we will approach it with great focus in order to perform well."
"They also have good players going forward, so we expect a good match tomorrow. Our job is to follow Yangaβs philosophy: play well and win. We believe we have prepared well and we will perform well," said Pedro.
The Portuguese coach also praised Yanga supporters for their constant energy and support, urging them to turn out in large numbers to motivate the team in a match where all three points are needed.
"First of all, I am very happy every time I see Wananchi in the stadium. I truly commend them for the great job they do in supporting their team. I also ask them to come and support us tomorrow in our match against Mashujaa. I believe they will be happy," Pedro added.
