Yanga have officially unveiled the signing of Angolan striker Laurindo Dilson Maria Aurélio, popularly known as Depu, who has arrived at Jangwani from Polish top-flight club Radomiak Radom.
Depu has previously featured for Petro de Luanda in Angola, Gil Vicente in Portugal, and Vojvodina in Serbia. He has also represented the Angola national team, scoring 15 goals in 18 matches during a period when the team was coached by Yanga’s current head coach, Pedro Gonçalves.
Depu joins Yanga as a replacement for striker Andy Boyeli, whose loan contract was terminated by the Tanzanian champions.
The striker is a direct recommendation from Gonçalves, who was keen to strengthen the attacking department, an area that struggled early in the season following Clement Mzize’s injury, leaving Prince Dube as the only reliable option.
Depu will be included in Yanga’s CAF Champions League squad and could be part of the team that faces Al Ahly in Egypt on January 23.
