Yanga are completing their final preparations today ahead of the Mapinduzi Cup final against Azam FC, which will be played tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
Good news for Yanga supporters is the return of their star players who had been on duty with the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars. The players have already arrived in Zanzibar and are ready to feature in this important match.
Defenders Bakari Nondo Mwamnyeto, Ibrahim Bacca, Dickson Job, and Mohamed Hussein were part of the Taifa Stars squad that made history by qualifying for the Round of 16 at the ongoing AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.
The day before yesterday, these players joined their fellow Taifa Stars teammates after being invited to State House by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, at a special ceremony to congratulate them on this historic achievement.
Following that event, the players have now officially rejoined the Yanga squad and are ready to resume their duties, giving coach Pedro Gonçalves a wider range of options ahead of the final clash against Azam FC.
