Yanga have secured a place in the Mapinduzi Cup final after edging Singida Black Stars 1–0 in the semifinal match played at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
The only goal of the match was scored by Maxi Nzengeli in the 54th minute, finishing off a through pass from Pacome Zouzoua.
It was a fiercely contested encounter, with Yanga dominating possession while Singida Black Stars relied on counterattacks.
Yanga will now face Azam FC in the final, scheduled to be played on January 13 at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
Head coach Pedro Gonçalves now has the opportunity to claim his first trophy with Yanga.
