Yanga president Engineer Hersi Said is currently in Uganda to finalize the signing of attacking midfielder Allain Okello, who plays for Vipers FC, it has been revealed.
Reports from Uganda indicate that earlier today, Hersi held talks with Vipers FC president Laurence Mulindwa to conclude the transfer process for the highly rated midfielder.
Vipers FC initially rejected Yanga’s first offer, demanding a higher transfer fee to release the player, who is currently regarded as one of the best performers in the Ugandan Premier League.
Towards the end of last year, Hersi publicly stated his intention to sign Okello during this transfer window and added that if the move failed to materialize now, Yanga would wait until the major transfer window when Okello’s contract with Vipers FC expires.
The good news is that following discussions between the two club presidents, an agreement has been reached, and what remains is the completion of the transfer process.
Personal terms between Okello and Yanga were agreed earlier, with the only remaining hurdle being permission from his club to allow him to complete the move to Yanga.
