After impressing in two Premier League matches against Fountain Gate and Coastal Union, Singida Black Stars have begun the process of recalling central defender Frank Assink, who is currently on loan at Yanga, it has been learned.
Assink joined Yanga on loan in the previous transfer window just days before it closed, filling the gap left by Yao Kouassi, who was not yet ready to return to action after undergoing surgery.
Reports indicate that Singida Black Stars head coach Miguel Gamondi has instructed the club’s management to bring the defender back into the squad in order to strengthen a defense that has appeared shaky in recent matches.
However, it is clear that Yanga will fight to keep Assink, who started the season slowly but has since impressed head coach Pedro Gonçalves, who trusted him with the full 180 minutes in the last two matches.
After the AFCON 2025 tournament concludes in Morocco at the end of next month, there will be a congested run of fixtures across all competitions, as the season is expected to be completed within four months to avoid clashing with the FIFA World Cup set to begin in June 2026.
Squad depth will be the key factor in determining success across all competitions.
