The Chairman of the Mapinduzi Cup 2026 Committee, Machano Makame Haji, yesterday announced that eight clubs will participate in the Mapinduzi Cup 2026, after last seasonβs edition featured national teams.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on December 28, 2025 and conclude on January 13, 2026, and will be hosted at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Unguja.
This year, prize money has been increased, with the champion set to receive Tsh150 million, an increase of Tsh50 million, while the runner-up will pocket Tsh100 million, up from Tsh70 million.
Representing Zanzibar will be three teams: Mlandege, the champions of the 2023 and 2024 editions, alongside Fufuni and KVZ.
From Tanzania Mainland, the participating teams are Yanga, Azam, Simba and Singida Black Stars, with invited guests URA from Uganda also taking part.
