The tournament calendar has already been released, with matches scheduled to begin on December 29 and run until January 13, when the final will be played.
More information regarding the invited teams is expected to be announced on Saturday, with Yanga listed among the anticipated participants.
This tournament will serve as an important preparation platform during the league’s pause to allow the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon 2025), which is set to kick off later this month in Morocco.
The last time Yanga won the Mapinduzi Cup was in 2021, when they defeated their rivals Simba 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in the final.
