After securing a 1β0 victory over Coastal Union yesterday in their NBC Premier League match at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma, the Yanga squad has departed Dodoma and returned to Dar es Salaam.
The league will now pause for approximately six weeks to allow room for the 2025 Afcon tournament, set to kick off later this month in Morocco.
Players who have been called up to their national teams will now join their respective camps in preparation for the competition.
The Yanga management is expected to grant a short break to players without national team duties before they regroup to continue preparations.
Their next fixture after the Afcon break will be an away CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly in Egypt on January 23, 2026.
