The CAF Champions League group stage enters its second round today, with four matches on the schedule.
Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga will be away in Algeria to face JS Kabylie in a Group B encounter.
After beginning their group-stage campaign with a 1–0 victory over AS FAR, the Tanzanian giants have another chance tonight to fight for three points and strengthen their position in the race for a quarter-final spot.
However, the match—kicking off at 10:00 PM East Africa Time—is expected to be tough. JS Kabylie are coming from a heavy 4–1 defeat to Al Ahly in their previous game, making tonight’s fixture a must-win for them.
Speaking during a press conference yesterday, Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves expressed confidence ahead of the match. He said they are prepared to handle the pressure from the home team, who are expected to fill the 50,700-seat stadium.
Goncalves noted that his players are experienced in playing under such intense conditions and believes they will execute their game plan well, with the main objective being to secure victory.
Yanga have been in Algeria for about three days preparing for the match, including two full training sessions in the country.
