Yanga’s squad is expected to travel to Zanzibar tomorrow, Tuesday, to finalize preparations for their CAF Champions League match against AS FAR, scheduled for Sunday, November 22 at the New Amaan Complex Stadium.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, stated that the team is expected to depart Dar es Salaam at 9:00 a.m.
“Yanga SC will head to Zanzibar tomorrow for the CAF Champions League match against FAR Rabat. The team will leave at 9:00 a.m. by boat.”
“Some players such as Prince Dube, Celestine Ecua, and Lassine Kouma, who were still on national team duty, will not be part of tomorrow’s trip. However, the management has already made proper arrangements for these players to travel and join the team directly in Zanzibar.”
“The players who were with the Tanzania national team have already returned and will be part of tomorrow’s trip. I urge the people of Zanzibar to come out in large numbers to welcome the team and show our players how ready you are for this historic match. Two of the best teams in Africa at the moment are about to meet,” Kamwe said.
In another update, Kamwe announced that on Thursday Yanga will officially begin selling special jerseys that will be used starting from the CAF Champions League group stage.
“Yanga’s new jerseys for the Champions League season will be launched and released for sale on Thursday. I remind everyone that these are special jerseys specifically for the Champions League, so the stock will not be very large. Fans should ensure they purchase theirs early. I have personally seen the jerseys, and I can confidently say they are of very high quality,” Kamwe said.
