With one week remaining before the first group-stage match of the CAF Champions League between Yanga and AS FAR, the Wananchi continue their preparations at the KMC Complex as they get ready for the encounter.
It has been reported that Yanga head coach Pedro Gonçalves wants his squad to arrive early in Zanzibar so they can have enough time to adapt to the environment.
Information from within Yanga’s management indicates that the Tanzanian champions may travel to Zanzibar on Monday, where they will have approximately five days of training on the islands.
Yanga have set the target of starting the group stage strongly by making good use of their home ground advantage, aiming to put themselves in a favourable position to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Wananchi are in Group D, which is considered the toughest group, featuring other teams such as Al Ahly, AS FAR, and JS Kabylie.
You could say it is Yanga against North African teams, with only two spots available for quarterfinal qualification.
