The gesture by Pacome Zouzoua to let striker Andy Boyeli take a penalty during Yanga’s Premier League match against KMC has continued to draw praise from football stakeholders across the country.
After Stephane Aziz Ki’s departure, Pacome was assigned the role of Yanga’s primary penalty taker. However, in the recent match, he chose to hand the responsibility to Boyeli.
Boyeli, who had been searching for his first goal of the season, made no mistake and converted the penalty to open his scoring account.
Pacome, who also scored and provided an assist in that match, had the chance to score his second goal but instead opted to build Boyeli’s confidence — a decision that paid off as the striker went on to score a second goal later in the game.
Yanga’s forwards had a slow start to the season, but Boyeli’s brace could mark the beginning of a strong scoring run for the team’s attacking line.
