Defending NBC Premier League champions Yanga are in action today at the KMC Complex, where they take on KMC in another round of league fixtures.
This could be a golden opportunity for Yanga to climb to the top of the league standings for the first time this season, provided they secure victory in today’s match.
They face a KMC side still struggling to find its rhythm under Brazilian coach Marcio Maximo, who previously managed both Yanga and the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars.
KMC currently sit at the bottom of the table with only three points from five matches, having won once and lost four times.
However, KMC have often proven unpredictable when facing Yanga, meaning Pedro Goncalves’ men will need to fight hard to collect all three points.
After four days of preparation, Yanga fans will today have a clearer glimpse of the playing style the Portuguese coach intends to implement with the squad.
Yanga will head into the match with a full-strength squad, except for forward Clement Mzize, who remains sidelined with an injury, and defender Ibrahim Bacca, who continues to serve his five-match suspension.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM (EAT).
