Yanga right-back Yao Kouassi, popularly known as *Jeshi*, continues to make progress in his recovery as the mid-season transfer window approaches on December 15.
Good news for *Wananchi* (Yanga fans) — the Ivorian defender is expected to be reinstated into the squad once the window opens and will likely be included in Yanga’s CAF Champions League roster by January 2025.
Yao underwent knee surgery in May this year after struggling with a persistent injury that sidelined him for six months.
During the last transfer window, Yanga was forced to deregister him to make room for Frank Assink, who, however, has yet to break into the first team since joining.
Assink joined Yanga on a six-month loan deal, and with the January window opening soon, he could return to Singida Black Stars — allowing Yao to reclaim his place in the squad.
