Yanga assistant coach Patrick Mabedi says he believes striker Prince Dube is only going through a transitional phase and that it is only a matter of time before he returns to form.
Mabedi acknowledged that Dube is facing huge pressure especially because he has not performed well in recent matches.
"Dube has done a lot of good things. I know he has a heavy burden on his shoulders. With the quality he has, he will be fine."
"There is pressure behind him but that is normal for big players anywhere. If you don’t score, questions will always come. It’s just a matter of time — Dube will regain his sharpness, I have no doubt," Mabedi said.
Speaking about preparations ahead of the Premier League match against Mtibwa Sugar to be played tomorrow, Tuesday at KMC Complex, Mabedi said they performed well in the Champions League match against Silver Strikers and their intention is to maintain that level.
He added that they have worked on improving finishing to ensure they increase efficiency in front of goal.
"I’m pleased with how our players played against Silver Strikers. As a coach, I want to see our team play well and I believe with time we will improve tactically."
"Every game has its own challenges. In the league there must be competition and we respect every opponent. We need to be very careful in tomorrow’s match against Mtibwa. What we are working on in training now is ensuring the players make the most of every chance they get."
"In the last match the fans turned out in large numbers. I congratulate them for giving their time to come and support us. We expect to see them again tomorrow to give our players motivation," Mabedi added.
