The Yanga management had promised that within three days they would announce the new head coach to replace Romain Folz, who was sacked last week.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has hinted that the process of hiring the new coach has been completed and that the coach might even be present at today’s match against Silver Strikers at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Rumours link the job to 49-year-old Portuguese coach Pedro Valdemar Soares Gonçalves.
Gonçalves previously coached the Angola national team, and has also managed Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and Primeiro de Agosto in Angola.
Additionally, Yanga are also rumoured to be hiring former Ekenäs (Finland) coach Filipe Duarte da Silva Pedro as assistant coach, joining Patrick Mabedi — who may be reassigned to a different role within the technical bench.
