After being announced as Yanga’s Acting Head Coach, Patrick Mabedi today officially began his duties as preparations start for the second leg of the CAF Champions League tie against Silver Strikers, with a place in the group stage at stake.
Following yesterday’s first-leg loss to Silver Strikers, Yanga returned to training today where players who featured in the match underwent a special recovery programme while the rest had a normal session.
Yanga Team Manager Walter Harrison said they will continue training in Malawi today and tomorrow morning before beginning the journey back to Tanzania tomorrow evening.
“The training programme is going well. As we said after the match, everything has changed now. We return to Tanzania tomorrow evening at 4pm and we will arrive in Dar es Salaam at around 8pm.”
“After landing in Dar on Tuesday we will officially enter camp to prepare for the return leg to be played on Saturday October 25 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.”
“I can say everything is going well under coach Patrick Mabedi and we believe we will be in a good position to prepare for the return match,” said Harrison.
Harrison also assured Yanga fans that the team is making thorough preparations to ensure they win the return leg and qualify for the group stage.
