There had been concern over striker Clement Mzize’s fitness ahead of Yanga’s CAF Champions League match against Silver Strikers, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at Bingu Stadium in Malawi.
However, good news for the Yanga faithful is that Mzize has shown significant improvement and is likely to be available for selection in tomorrow’s encounter.
Yanga team doctor, Moses Etutu, confirmed that Mzize is recovering faster than initially expected and could be ready to feature in the game.
"Mzize was coming off an injury and only resumed training a few days ago, but we are happy to see how quickly he is improving," said Etutu.
"He took part in team training today (Friday), and with one more session to go before the match, there is hope he will be ready to play," he added.
Despite still training with a bandage on his left leg, Mzize fully participated in Yanga’s first training session in Malawi.
