Yanga Head Coach Romain Folz says he has prepared his squad to fight hard in Malawi to ensure a strong start in the first-leg match of the CAF Champions League qualifying round against Silver Strikers.
Yanga is expected to depart Tanzania on Thursday ahead of the match scheduled for Saturday, October 18.
Speaking about his team’s preparations, Folz said there are no easy games in the Champions League, and they are ready to face a tough opponent just as they did in their previous match against Wiliete SC.
“We’ve had good preparations, and even though we missed some players during the FIFA international break, we’ve had enough time to get ready, and we’re set to face the opponent ahead of us,” said Folz.
“This is the Champions League, so we don’t expect any easy games, just like our previous encounter against Wiliete SC. We’ve had time to analyze Silver Strikers; they’re a good team, and we know the strategy we’ll take to Malawi,” he added.
“Before thinking about what we’re going to do, the most important thing is to respect the opponent and be ready to compete, while keeping our focus on winning,” said Folz.
Folz emphasized that his team will continue to evolve and improve day by day, urging fans to remain confident in the technical bench’s work.
“As I said before, this isn’t a one-day job. I’m happy to see the progress we’re making, and I believe we’ll continue to get better with each passing day,” he concluded.
