The Yanga Club announced Patrick Mabedi as the new assistant coach, joining Romain Folz on the technical bench of the Tanzanian Premier League champions. It should be remembered that Yanga already had an assistant coach, Manu Rodriguez, a Spanish national.
The club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, stated that Mabedi’s arrival was facilitated following a request from Manu, who asked to leave due to health challenges.
Kamwe explained that after discussions between Manu and the club’s management, his request was accepted, and the process of finding his replacement began.
“It is true that Manu requested permission to return home (to Spain) to address health issues. After his request was approved, the management began the process of finding his replacement, who has now officially been announced as Coach Patrick Mabedi.”
“In the next two days, Manu will return to the country to finalize administrative procedures, after which we will officially part ways with him,” said Kamwe.
After being introduced yesterday, Mabedi immediately began his duties, joining head coach Romain Folz, who will now receive significant support from the Zimbabwean coach.
Mabedi has extensive experience in African football, both as a player and as a coach. Before joining Yanga, his most recent position was as the head coach of the Malawi national team.
