The Tanzania national football team, 'Taifa Stars', will today conclude their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with a match against Zambia.
The encounter is scheduled to take place at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Tanzania’s hopes of advancing to the next round as one of the ‘best losers’ were dashed following a 1–1 draw against Congo Brazzaville in their previous match.
With 10 points, *Taifa Stars* sit second in Group E behind leaders Morocco, who have already secured qualification. As such, tonight’s fixture serves mainly as a formality for Tanzania.
However, the match still carries significance in terms of improving Tanzania’s FIFA ranking. For Zambia, it’s a chance to avenge their 1–0 defeat to Tanzania in the first leg played in Lusaka.
Former Yanga stars Kennedy Musonda and Clatous Chama are part of the Zambian squad that arrived in the country ahead of the clash.
