Yanga SC, through its Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has confirmed receiving a letter from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) directing the club to conduct medical tests on their player, Yanga Princess forward Jeanine Mukandayisenga from Rwanda, following complaints from several teams who allege that the player might be male.
Kamwe stated that the Yanga management will meet to discuss the complaints and decide on the next steps.
“It’s true, we have received a letter from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), indicating that some clubs have lodged complaints requesting that our striker, Yanga Princess Jeanine Mukandayisenga from Rwanda, undergo medical testing,” Kamwe said.
“The letter, which arrived today (yesterday), specifies which doctor should oversee the process. After receiving it, the club’s management will meet to review the issue and determine what action to take in line with TFF’s guidance.”
“This player featured for Yanga Princess last season and performed very well for our team,” he added.
“Last year, when we were still rebuilding our women’s team, no one said anything about Yanga Princess. But now that our team is strong and competitive, such distractions have started to emerge.”
“I’ve heard that JKT Queens have announced their departure from the country on October 9, 2025—the very day they are scheduled to play against Yanga Princess. It’s all just excuses and mind games; no one wants to face Yanga Princess,” Kamwe boasted.
Jeanine joined Yanga Princess last season from APR Queens of Rwanda. She has also represented the Rwanda Women’s National Team for over four seasons without ever facing any gender-related concerns.
Notably, Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia) and Tanzania Women’s National Team (Twiga Queens) star Clara Luvanga previously faced similar gender allegations during her time at Yanga Princess.
