Ghanaian centre-back Frank Assink appears to be entering the right moment to showcase his quality for Yanga SC, under the guidance of head coach Romain Folz.
Since joining Yanga during the last transfer window from Singida BS, Assink has yet to feature in any of the club’s five competitive matches this season.
With defender Ibrahim Hamad “Bacca” suspended for five domestic matches, a gap has opened up in Yanga’s defensive line — providing Assink with a golden opportunity to prove his worth and justify his signing.
During Bacca’s absence, Yanga are expected to rely heavily on defenders Dickson Job and Bakari Mwamnyeto, while Assink remains a highly anticipated option to step in and fill the void.
Currently, Yanga have resumed preparations for their CAF Champions League clash against Silver Strikers of Malawi. Assink is the only central defender left in camp after Bacca, Job, and Mwamnyeto all received national team call-ups — giving him a unique chance to work closely with the technical bench and impress the coaching staff.
