After a short break, Yanga SC return to training today to begin preparations for their CAF Champions League group stage qualification match against Silver Strikers of Malawi.
On October 18, Yanga will play the first leg away in Malawi, with the return leg scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam a week later.
Today’s training session will be conducted under head coach Romain Folz, who, despite ongoing speculation about his future, remains in charge of the team.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, confirmed that there have been no changes to the technical bench, meaning Folz will continue with his duties as usual.
Yanga resume training without 12 of their key players who are currently on international duty with their respective national teams.
The players are Djigui Diarra (Mali), Israel Mwenda, Bakari ‘Nondo’ Mwamnyeto, Ibrahim Bacca, Dickson Job, Aziz Andabwile, and Offen Chikola (Tanzania’s Taifa Stars),
as well as Duke Abuya (Kenya), Lassine Kouma and Celestin Ecua (Chad), Prince Dube (Zimbabwe), and Pacome Zouzoua (Ivory Coast).
These players are expected to rejoin the squad after the completion of the FIFA international calendar, with the final matches set for October 14.
