Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has revealed that there is a deliberate plan by some pundits to push an agenda aimed at forcing the club to sack their head coach, Romain Folz.
Despite Folz’s strong start, Kamwe argues that certain analysts, especially on sports shows, are creating a narrative that does not reflect reality. According to him, unnecessary pressure is being placed on Yanga’s leadership, while fans are being convinced that the team’s struggles stem from the coach’s lack of tactical ability.
Kamwe urged supporters not to fall into what he described as a trap, stressing that their rivals are working tirelessly to destabilize Yanga.
Through his social media account, Kamwe wrote the following message:
“There are two very silly arguments being spread by some pundits. First, that this Yanga under Folz will lose the moment it faces a tough opponent. Second, that Yanga is only carried by the quality of its players, not the coach.”
“Tell me, which team in the world has never lost? And since when does losing always require a tough opponent? How many times have underdogs beaten giants in football? In recent seasons, Yanga has won tough derbies and reached the finals of both the CAF Confederation Cup and the Champions League, but still lost to Ihefu.”
“Yes, football is unpredictable, but it is also a game of facts. If Yanga were led by incompetent people who bowed to every agenda, Nabi would not have left as a hero.”
“As for the second argument—that Yanga is only carried by big players and not the coach—seriously? Did you expect Yanga to be carried by fringe players instead? Pacome Zouzoua and his teammates are paid big salaries to give their best on the pitch and deliver results. When you see Pacome working hard, he’s simply doing his job.”
