Young Africans (Yanga SC) resume training today ahead of their NBC Premier League opener against Pamba Jiji, scheduled for Wednesday, September 24 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
This season, Yanga have chosen the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium as their home ground for Premier League matches, the CRDB Federation Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
The decision follows the government’s reopening of the stadium, which had been unavailable for nearly two seasons due to extensive renovations.
The four-time consecutive league champions will begin their hunt for a fifth straight title in the match, which kicks off at 7:00 PM local time.
Yanga’s return to the Mkapa Stadium is good news for fans, who will now have the opportunity to watch their team in greater numbers. Over the past two seasons, the club hosted its games at Azam Complex and KMC Complex, both of which have limited capacity, accommodating fewer than 7,000 supporters.
