Yanga Club President, Engineer Hersi Said, has continued to affirm his status as a highly successful leader after watching his team claim their first trophy of the season yesterday.
Yanga secured a 1-0 victory over their archrivals Simba SC in the Community Shield match played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
This marked Yanga’s sixth trophy in just two seasons, and their fourth Community Shield in the last five years. In total, the club has collected more than 16 trophies in four years since Hersi was elected president, underscoring his vision and effectiveness in building a formidable squad.
Beyond the silverware, yesterday’s win over Simba extended a rare record for Yanga — it was their sixth consecutive victory against their traditional rivals.
This streak further strengthens Hersi’s reputation as a leader who knows how to implement winning strategies, from player recruitment to preparing the team for success on the pitch.
As things stand, it is only fitting to say: Hersi Said is Yanga’s “President of Trophies,” a leader who has left an indelible mark and written a new chapter in the history of Tanzania’s most storied club.
