Yanga SC has officially been handed the title deed for the expansion of their Jangwani grounds, paving the way for the construction of the club’s own stadium. At the same time, the club’s leadership announced GSM as the key investor in the project.
The revelation was made by the Minister for Lands, Deogratias Ndejembi, during the climax of *Wiki ya Mwananchi* held today at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. He confirmed that Yanga has now received approval for additional land to fulfill one of its long-term strategic plans.
The Minister, who is also a proud member of “Wananchi,” noted that although the deed was originally scheduled to be issued within two weeks, the Ministry of Lands expedited the process and completed it ahead of schedule, following Yanga’s General Assembly last Sunday.
“We want a big club like Yanga to have its own stadium quickly, so that Tanzanian fans can enjoy the best football experience,” said Minister Ndejembi.
Immediately after his address, Yanga president Hersi Said announced Gharib Said Mohammed (GSM) as the official investor for the stadium project.
“I want to officially declare that, after receiving the deed, the investor for this stadium project will be GSM, who has stood shoulder to shoulder with Yanga,” said Hersi.
GSM has been Yanga’s sponsor for four consecutive seasons, a period that coincides with the club’s dominance in winning the Premier League, the Federation Cup, and making strong progress in continental competitions.
