To show his determination to entertain Yanga fans during the climax of *Wiki ya Mwananchi* on Friday, September 12, attacking midfielder Celestin Ecua left the Chad national team camp after their match against Ghana.
Two days ago, Chad played against Madagascar and suffered a 3-1 defeat, but Ecua was not part of that match as he had already departed from camp earlier.
Reports from Yanga management reveal that Ecua called the club’s bosses, informing them he wanted to return to Dar es Salaam from the national team camp in order to fully prepare for *Wiki ya Mwananchi* and the Community Shield match.
Ecua told Yanga officials that if Chad delayed in sending him a flight ticket, then the club should be ready to arrange one for him immediately, as he was determined to return in time.
“Ecua called saying he had asked his national team manager to ensure he left Madagascar right after the match ended, and they told him okay,” said the source.
“Despite that response, Ecua thought it best to also call us so we could be prepared. If Chad delayed in processing the ticket, we could step in quickly to fly him out so he makes it back in time for *Wiki ya Mwananchi*,” the source added.
Ecua featured for Chad in the match against Ghana, scoring the equalizer in a game that ended 1-1.
That was his first appearance for Chad since switching nationality from Ivory Coast.
All players who were away on national duty are expected to report back to camp starting today, two days before the festival.
