Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has announced the schedule of activities the club will hold in the build-up to the climax of Mwananchi Week this Friday, September 12.
Speaking to the press earlier today at Serena Hotel, Kamwe urged members and fans to participate in the activities from their respective locations.
“Today we are releasing the Mwananchi Week schedule. Whatever is being done in Dar should also be done by our fans or members in different parts of Tanzania and beyond. What happens in Mbagala or Tegeta should also be done by our members in Tokyo, Lubumbashi, Pretoria, New York, and Mombasa.”
“Tomorrow, Tuesday, we will have a blood donation drive as part of Mwananchi Week events. Our main station will be at the club’s headquarters in Jangwani, but we are asking our members to donate blood at their nearest hospital. Your single pint of blood carries immense value in saving lives.”
“Those who donate blood will receive various gifts from our sponsors. After donating blood, we will enjoy soup as is our tradition, while discussing how we will head into the Mwananchi Week climax with the right vibe.”
“On Wednesday, we will hold a special prayer. We encourage every Yanga member across all regions, from different faiths, to organize prayers in their own areas. The prayers should take place at noon, asking for God’s blessings and success. Nationally, the main prayer will be held at the club headquarters. Everyone is welcome.”
“On Thursday, we will have a charity event at Muhimbili Hospital. Yanga members are expected to gather there with various donations. For those unable to make it to Muhimbili, they should go to nearby centers and reach out to those in need,” Kamwe said.
Yanga’s main sponsors, SportPesa and GSM, will join hands with members and fans in these community outreach activities.
