Yanga SC has officially completed government procedures and secured ownership of land designated for the construction of its new stadium in Jangwani, Dar es Salaam. The allocated plot covers approximately 37,500 square meters.
Reports indicate that preliminary steps toward the project have already begun, including preparations to announce tenders for selecting the contractor who will undertake the construction. The planned stadium is expected to have a seating capacity of around 30,000 fans.
Recently, Yanga president Eng. Hersi Said made a visit to Brazil, where he studied the processes and expertise involved in building modern stadiums. The tour was part of preparations to ensure that the Jangwani project meets international standards.
The stadium will be built on the grounds of the former Kaunda Stadium, with the government expanding the site following approval from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The development is anticipated to enhance Yanga’s stature while creating multiple economic and social opportunities for the community, including employment and business ventures connected to the stadium’s operations.
