Young Africans SC (Yanga) Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has expressed strong belief in the club’s new midfielder Mohamed Doumbia, tipping him as one of the players set to carry the team in the coming season.
Doumbia, signed during the current transfer window, has quickly become the standout attraction at Yanga’s Avic Town pre-season camp. Those who have watched him closely are convinced the club has secured a “special star.”
Kamwe has urged Yanga fans to turn out in large numbers for Mwananchi Day on September 12 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, promising they will witness Doumbia’s brilliance firsthand.
“This guy is dangerous, my brothers. On September 12, come in numbers and confirm what I’m saying. The things he’s doing here at Avic Town and in friendly matches are extraordinary. We just haven’t shown them publicly yet. But I’m always at Avic Town and I can assure you, we’ve got a top-class player,” Kamwe said.
According to Kamwe, Doumbia’s quality puts him in the same bracket as Yanga’s other star, Pacome Zouzoua.
“You can put Doumbia at the same level as Pacome. The things he does are of the highest quality. While others complain about not having players to intimidate their opponents, we have Doumbia and many more here,” he added.
Doumbia has already become a hot topic in camp, with teammates and the technical bench describing him as a smart footballer with exceptional ability.
Clearly, Yanga fans are eagerly counting down the days to Mwananchi Day, where Doumbia is expected to make his grand impression.
