Yanga midfielder Maxi Nzengeli has called on members and fans of the club to buy their tickets and turn out in large numbers for the climax of Wiki ya Wananchi (Citizen Week) on September 12 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
This season will mark Maxi’s third participation in the event, with many fans recalling his brilliant assist to Kennedy Musonda, who scored the lone winning goal against Kaizer Chiefs during his first appearance.
Maxi said he understands the value and significance of Wiki ya Wananchi for all Yanga stakeholders, and that the players are preparing well to ensure they give their fans the joy they deserve.
"Siku ya Mwananchi (Citizen’s Day) is a very big day for our club. We know there are so many events happening on that day," he said.
"My mind is focused on the match itself so that Wananchi (the People) get a good game worthy of the occasion," he added.
"We ask you to come out in large numbers to the stadium—you will enjoy a very good match," said Maxi.
Yanga has already confirmed it will face Kenya’s Bandari FC on Friday, September 12, 2025, in the climax of Wiki ya Wananchi.
The squad continues training at Avic Town as they prepare for the country’s biggest entertainment and football festival.
