The Community Shield match between Yanga and Simba, scheduled for September 16, is now in doubt after reports emerged that Simba has requested the game be postponed due to their CAF Champions League preliminary round fixtures.
Both Yanga and Simba will begin their CAF Champions League campaigns in the preliminary round, with first-leg matches set to be played between September 19 and 21.
Simba will face Gaborone United on September 20 in Botswana, while Yanga will play Wiliete in Angola on September 21.
Yanga has no objection to the fixture being played as scheduled, but their rivals Simba have requested it be moved.
However, if the match is postponed, it may not be played at all since the Premier League is expected to begin in the final week of September.
That same week, both Yanga and Simba will also be engaged in the return-leg matches of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
