Today, Yanga’s management organized a special seminar for Yanga Princess in preparation for the upcoming 2025/26 competitions.
The seminar was led by Yanga Vice President, Arafat Haji, and was also attended by other senior officials, including Chief Executive Officer, Andre Mtine.
Speaking at the seminar, Arafat expressed high expectations for the women’s team to perform well in the Women’s Premier League this coming season.
Arafat said that after three years of building the squad, he believes it is now time to compete for the league title.
“Our coach, Edna Lema, has promised to ensure we win the league championship. I know it’s possible. Even Rome wasn’t built in a day. Our intention is that when we meet our members, we go with the league trophy. We have been improving the team over the last three years. I have great confidence in our squad,” said Arafat.
Meanwhile, Yanga CEO Andre Mtine assured Yanga Princess of the management’s full 100% support.
Mtine acknowledged that women’s football faces many challenges, but emphasized that the leadership is committed to overcoming them.
“I am very proud of our efforts. As management, we stand with you shoulder to shoulder. Women’s football has faced many challenges, but the truth is we have made significant progress. There are cultural challenges, but you have become role models. Do not give up. Keep fighting for your dreams,” he said.
