Tanzania’s national team, the Taifa Stars, have been eliminated from the 2024 CHAN tournament after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Morocco.
The Stars started the match brightly but lost concentration early in the second half, allowing Morocco to score the only goal of the game.
Despite enjoying possession at different periods, Tanzania failed to create many clear chances. Clement Mzize squandered a rare opportunity in the first half that could have changed the course of the match.
The Taifa Stars now join their East African neighbors Kenya in bowing out of the competition. Kenya were knocked out by Madagascar on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
