Yanga resumed training yesterday in preparation for the 2025/26 Premier League season as well as other competitions, including the CAF Champions League.
Before their league opener on September 16, Yanga will face their arch-rivals Simba in the Community Shield match, which could be played on September 14.
Prior to the Community Shield, fans are still waiting for the date of the “Wiki ya Mwananchi” (Citizen’s Week), an annual event that usually marks the first major activity on Yanga’s season calendar.
The ongoing CHAN tournament in Tanzania has disrupted scheduling plans, but reliable sources within Yanga’s management have confirmed that the event will be held after the conclusion of the tournament.
Yanga is expected to announce the date for the event at any moment, with indications that it will take place during the first week of September.
