Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has confirmed that the club has not yet made a decision regarding the offers they have received for striker Clement Mzize.
Since last week, reports have circulated that Tunisian giants Esperance are in advanced talks to complete the transfer of the forward, who has served Yanga for three seasons and still has two years left on his contract.
Kamwe admitted that discussions are ongoing but emphasized that, for now, Mzize remains a Yanga player.
“Clement Mzize still has a contract with Yanga, so at the moment he is ours. I want to assure fans that the player is with us and has not left,” Kamwe stated.
“Regarding offers, there are more than two offers for our player, and they are being worked on. Once agreements are reached, an announcement will be made. Since the player is still with us, there is no issue with what others may be saying. We, as leaders, are handling matters based on contractual obligations,” he added.
Mzize has attracted interest from several clubs in this transfer window, but his potential move has repeatedly faced uncertainty due to disputes between his management team and Yanga.
Yanga has reportedly accepted some offers, but challenges have emerged on the side of the player’s representatives, who also claim to have their own separate offers.
For a player with more than six months remaining on his contract, any club interested in signing him must first contact his parent club to obtain permission to speak to the player. Only once an agreement is reached does the transfer process officially begin.
There is no procedure allowing an agent to directly submit an offer on behalf of a buying club for a player who still has more than six months left on his contract.
