Yanga claimed another early trophy after defeating Rayon Sports 3-1 in the climax match of Rayon Sports Day, played at the Amahoro Stadium in Rwanda.
An early own goal by Aziz Andabwile nearly disrupted Yanga’s plans in the match, but coach Romain Folz’s squad displayed great composure.
Striker Andy Boyeli equalized for Yanga, making the most of a pass from Pacome Zouzoua, before setting up Pacome to score the second goal, sending Yanga into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
In the first half, Yanga created two or three clear chances, but one could say the referee tried to ease the pain for the hosts.
In the second half, Folz made changes to almost the entire team, with captain Bakari “Nondo” Mwamnyeto scoring the third goal in the dying minutes.
In this match, Yanga also unveiled winger Edmund John, who has been signed from Singida BS.
