The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has announced amendments to the Community Shield regulations ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The changes scrap the recent four-team tournament format and restore the original setup.
The Community Shield will now be contested between the Premier League champions and the winners of the CRDB Federation Cup (FA Cup).
If the league champions are also the FA Cup winners, then the match will be played between the league champions and the league runners-up.
With this change, fans could see an early Kariakoo Derby clash between Yanga SC and Simba SC.
According to the TPLB calendar, the Community Shield will take place between September 11β14 this year.
Yanga are the defending champions, having claimed last seasonβs title with a 4-1 victory over Azam FC.
