Yanga SC have departed Dar es Salaam this Wednesday evening for Rwanda ahead of their international friendly match against Rayon Sports, scheduled for Friday, August 15.
The travelling squad of 24 players headed to Rwanda, with head coach Romain Folz expressing high hopes for the match.
Speaking briefly before departure at JNIA, Folz said that in the short time he has had to prepare the team, he focused on integrating the new players with the existing ones, confident they will be ready for a competitive match on Friday.
"Iβve been pleased with the efforts of my players in the short preparation time before the match. Our team has new players, so our first task was to connect them with their existing teammates," he said.
"Overall, I can say we are ready to put our preparations into action in a competitive friendly, and I see an opportunity to do well," added Folz.
Folz acknowledged that fans have high expectations for their team, and he is determined to deliver on those expectations.
He emphasised that the match against Rayon Sports is important as it will serve as part of their pre-season preparations. He believes it will provide a good test after two weeks of training.
"Our match on Friday is to get us ready, both physically and tactically, after our recent training sessions. I believe it will be a good test for us, and every player will have the chance to play."
