Young Africans SC have officially begun talks with Singida Black Stars to sign Ghanaian central defender Frank Assink on loan until the end of this Mainland Tanzania Premier League season, which is set to kick off on September 16.
Sources within the club reveal that Yanga are aiming to strengthen their defensive line by adding a high-caliber foreign centre-back, and Assink—who delivered impressive performances last season with Singida BS—has emerged as the top choice for coach Romain Folz’s squad.
If the deal goes through, Yanga will be required to remove one foreign player from their registered squad to make room for Assink.
One of the players who could be affected is Yao Kouassi, who, despite signing a one-year contract extension, might be left out of the initial registration until he regains full fitness—potentially being reinstated during the mid-season transfer window.
Yanga are currently in intense preparations for the new season, aiming not only to defend their domestic titles but also to excel in international competitions.
