Yanga and Tanzania national team (Taifa Stars) striker, Clement Mzize, is in doubt for the opening match of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) against Burkina Faso.
Tomorrow, Saturday, hosts Tanzania will face Burkina Faso at 8:00 PM at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Stars’ head coach, Hemed Suleiman 'Morocco', has confirmed that Mzize is struggling with an injury.
"The team is ready to fight for the CHAN 2024 title, and 90% of the players are in good condition—except for Mzize, whose fate will be determined in the final training session before tomorrow’s match," said Morocco, adding:
"Final test results on him will be available today, Friday, and we’ll know if he will be part of the squad for the opening match against Burkina Faso."
Morocco said the team will have its final training session tonight at 7:00 PM at the Gymkhana grounds, during which a clear decision will be made on whether the striker will play or continue with treatment.
