The holiday is over! That’s the best way to put it as Yanga SC, under Head Coach Romain Folz, is set to begin preparations today for the upcoming 2025/26 competition season.
In the past two days, Yanga conducted medical assessments for its players. According to the pre-released schedule, Folz instructed that training should kick off today to allow two full weeks of preparation before the team heads to Rwanda for a match against Rayon Sports on August 15, in celebration of Rayon Day.
Yanga will conduct its pre-season training at the KMC Complex. The sessions will involve all players who are not currently on national team duty.
The club’s newly signed foreign players have already arrived in Dar es Salaam, and Yanga continues to unveil more signings.
Yesterday, Yanga officially unveiled striker Andy Boyeli, with more introductions expected today. Other foreign players awaiting official unveiling include skillful midfielder Mohamed Doumbia and attacking midfielder Ecua Celestine.
These players are already in Dar es Salaam and have joined Moussa Balla Conte, Lassine Kouma, and Boyeli, who have already been presented.
Left-back Mohammed Hussein 'Zimbwe Jr' is also expected to be unveiled, although he is currently with Tanzania's national team, Taifa Stars, participating in the CHAN tournament.
Other Yanga players on national duty with Taifa Stars for CHAN include Dickson Job, Ibrahim Bacca, Mudathir Yahya, Shekhan Khamis, and Clement Mzize.
