Last week, Yanga SC President Engineer Hersi Said was in Kibaha to participate in a charity match organized by goalkeeper Aboubakar Khomein.
After the match, residents of Kibaha requested Engineer Hersi to take with him a young player, Juma Popo, believing he has great potential.
Hersi accepted the request and left with the young talent, including him in Yanga's squad that was preparing for the Safari Lager Cup match against Safari Lager Talents.
Finally, Popo got the chance to feature for Yanga, where he played for 45 minutes β enough time to earn himself the Man of the Match award in a game Yanga won 1-0.
This could be the beginning of Popoβs journey, as there is a strong possibility he might be signed to the club's youth team, from where he could be promoted to the senior squad.
Popo could follow in the footsteps of Clement Mzize, who also joined Yanga after being recommended by fans to former club chairman Dr. Mshindo Msolla.
