Yanga SC’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has refuted online rumors regarding striker Prince Dube, stressing that the forward has not requested to leave the club.
Kamwe denied the rumors, which began circulating early Wednesday, alleging that Dube wanted to terminate his contract over unpaid signing fees.
“People are looking for ways to tarnish our name; those reports are 100% false. Let them tell us – which football authorities, locally or internationally, has Dube approached with complaints?”
“Prince Dube is a Yanga player with one year remaining on his contract. These are just stories people are making up to paint us negatively after seeing our progress,”
“As the spokesperson for this institution and the voice of Yanga, I cannot lie to our fans knowing that if Dube leaves, it would be a shame for me personally,”
“Those reports are fabricated like many others. Player payments are handled according to contractual agreements,” said Kamwe.
Dube joined Yanga last season from Azam FC, signing a two-year contract. His deal is set to expire at the end of next season.
