Yanga is reportedly in the final stages of completing the signing of defensive midfielder Balla Moussa Conte, a Guinean national who was playing for CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
According to reliable sources, Conte β who still has one year remaining on his contract with Sfaxien β has already reached personal terms with Yanga, and the historic Tanzanian champions have also agreed on a transfer fee with the Tunisian club.
Yesterday, Yanga's Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, hinted during a press briefing that the club had successfully βsnatchedβ a player who had already agreed to join another major club in the country.
Kamwe revealed that Yanga moved in on the player after discovering that the club he had initially agreed with had not yet deposited the payment into his account.
Conte had been linked with Simba since the January transfer window and was part of the Sfaxien squad that played against Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
Simba had already reached an agreement to sign the midfielder, but delays in processing his payments gave Yanga the opportunity to hijack the deal.
